Ehsaas - Scene VIII

Anjali was lost in her own thoughts when Nihaal entered, he saw Anjali standing in the balcony window looking up in the sky. He sat on window sitting and pulled her towards him. She was looking really good in backless purple top which had only some pearl strings in the back and low waist blue skirt which had a delicate pearl cummerbund. He said “You know, Anjali that I was not so keen on marrying. But you were there that day when the will was opened and you know the condition of my inheritance. I was shocked I did not know how to react and was thinking why my father added such a clause and who would be the person whom I can marry? Who would understand my view point? Who can live in such big mansion alone? Who can be the person to whom I can believe blindly? Who can follow him as quietly and faithfully as shadow? And then I turned back and saw you sitting in the arm of the sofa on which I sat. You were there trying to clam me by rubbing my shoulders. You made my face shine. At that moment I realized you are the answer of my all questions and I knew you were not keen marrying a person you didn’t knew as you told me that day in lunch but you also want to keep uncle’s wishes. I knew somehow that we are made for each other. I proposed you. I know it was not like what every girl imagines but then too when next day I was called by your father and saw you in that cute strapless blue top and checked shorts with a transy type of overcoat and he told me that he gives me the permission to take away his little girl and I was complete. As a matter of fact, I know everything about you but then also tell me anything that you would like to share with me. I am very keen on that part as you only said that every time marriage is never just about sharing a room; it’s about sharing a life.”
Anjali said “Nicks, I will remain Any for you and no Anjali. We were best friends; we are best friends and shall always remain best friend. I just wanted to ask you for a favor that I wanted to do M.A. in Architecture. And I wanted your permission for that. I wanted a promise that you will support my career and not make me a house-wife. That’s the only thing I want from you.”
Nihaal smiled and replied “You are the best. I promise you that and actually I will soon register a company as you as its head and that company is A Architects and Co. under our group of On Location Pvt. Ltd. So, now if you allow us we should lay down as I am very tired and need lie down as it’s already late and I promise that tomorrow the 1st work I would do is to book you tickets to Italy as I know you wanted to do M.A. from Rome. Tomorrow is a big day for two of us as it’s my first day in office and you will return to your land of dreams. Come”
Both slept peacefully that night as both got what they wanted a much needed sweet welcome from their life partners and a hope to complete their dreams but were a bit shy on the part of sharing the bed for the first time with anyone. The next day when Anjali got up, Nihaal already had left for office but there was a recorded message “Good Morning, Any I was getting late for office so left but don’t you worry I know you like late morning slumbers so you enjoy it and I will be back in evening and your luggage came so I instructed them to shift it your wing. Enjoy your day. Bye”, she was happy, and she visited the mansion that she has visited from her childhood but it was different feeling visiting it as its mistress just as she was getting ready an intercom came that her sister-in-laws came to meet her. So she arrived down and joyfully attended them but they were more interested to know what happened previous night so she told them that she would be going to Rome for 3 years to study and they had fabulous chat about their future. But the line that shook them was her more studies they tried to defy her decision of going by saying that she is newly wedded so she should concentrate on her making her household rather than studying  but Anjali firmly replied that it’s the matter of her personal life they shouldn’t interfere there. Her wording was supported by both of her brothers and her father.
So after 6 months, Anjali returned to study more. During this time she changed the building into house, though she being a dutiful wife shared the room with Nihaal but then too under the mutual consent, there was a different room for her goods as he didn’t liked sharing his wardrobes and that was fine too as Anjali slept late in night and Nihaal woke early in morning so they needed a spare room for that purpose. Anjali mostly slept in that room due their non-mutual habits. She paid very less trips to America as she had very little time plus Nihaal never seemed to care about that. At first, she enjoyed the feeling of retaining bachelorhood even after marriage but soon she realized that Nihaal never had time for her and she was his second priority. His first priority was always his business. She found herself always alone in airports, in mansion and even in America as she clearly remembered the parting words of her father on her marriage, he said “Anjali, now that house is yours and you have to make your life alone so I would advise you to be there whatever be the situations as no one can help you in your personal matters. So always try to become a warrior who will fight alone to stand against adversities. Sweetie, mark my words it’s only on a woman to make or break her married life and I know you want to make it. This house will always be yours but that house is your destination. Whatever happens there stand by it with dignity and doesn’t tell anybody about it not even me. I will be always there for you. God bless you, my child”. So preferred to stay more in Italy and visit the world rather than to go home and show her brothers and sister-in-laws about her disturbed relationship. She became very rich in experience and she utilized holidays in learning new things.
