Samay- Scene XIV

The doorbell rang and uncomfortably getting up from her couch in her apartment, she made way to the door expecting to be washerman or the boy who provided her with sea catch and milk. But seeing him, she froze but applying her wits, she took him in as she wanted no nuisance here. Coming in Trishant said that it is a beautiful apartment. She questioned him mockingly “Why? And why are you here alone and not with Jyoti?”

Trishant angrily grabs her shoulder. “You throw accusations at me without giving me a valid and want me to live with it. Atleast let me know what is my fault? ”As his grip on her arm became unbearable. “Trishant, you are hurting me.” She winces “How can I forget? This is an old habit of yours,” she taunts “The only thing you do right is to hurt me.” Seeing her turn teary-eyed, he calms her down and questions “What are you saying me hurting you? What happened that you feel so? Tell me! Sweetu I have always loved you. Pls tell me what lead you to believe I cheated to you and whats that with Jyoti? Pls tell me, I still love you.”

Prakriti began “The day when I was returning from hospital after the duty just a week after your arrival from Delhi after the official declaration of elections. I had planned to come early to surprise you. But at that moment I saw you in bed with her and you both were soundly asleep. At that moment, I thought that I was not there to support you so you found another consoling shoulder and ran away but after some days I needed a place for shelter and at that moment I called my college friend, Harsita whom I remember opening a hospital in Goa and she offered me a job in her hospital and apartment as perk. So I joined it here.”

Trishant only could only say that “What? That day it wasn’t me in the bed it was Jyoti’s lover and fiancée they had asked me for the room as they wanted to make love and I was leaving for tour. Stupid girl! How could you think that I will ever find such a delicate shoulder like you and I thought that you wanted to leave for the emptiness in your life and you would be here with some friends brooding over past but when you didn’t returned I started searching you frantically . By the way, I’m hurt that you thought that I can ever betray you and especially moments we spent for last year. But let’s leave this as you are also human and you ran away because different people react differently under such circumstances especially when you are going through a bad time in life like you faced after your misgarage. I’m sorry I should have been there to hold your pain in this troubled time.”

Prakriti opened her eyes in confusion.  She tried to grasp all the change of events with a slight blurriness. She was about to fall when Trishant saved her. He asked “Are you was ok?” To which she said its normal in this stage. Trishant was still confused but Prakriti put his hand over the slight swell of her stomach, made him realize, the glaring truth.

 “What you are pregnant! Again!” cried Trishant in happiness and shock.

Samay-Scene XV

After 7 months,

Outside an Operating theatre was standing tensionly Trishant as he knew that her pregnancy hasn’t being an easy one but it was very taxing on her. But she didn’t even said a single word to Trishant. Near him stood Kakaji and Bauji who were there to support them in this critical moment. Monica had already told them it was not an easy affair but Prakriti wanted this child. Plus today morning the matters worsen more when her umbical cord got around the unborn child and plus her increasing blood pressure was also a major threat to the lives of both mother and the child and he was not hoping to hear one more bad news.

Last some months were like bliss, first the elections in the State Assembly was won by their party with highest margin in the history of Indian politics and he was also the awarded as the  Best C M by a poll conducted around India by an reputed NGO. Plus during this pregnancy Prakriti was more docile and didn’t said any word plus followed all the guidelines for a safe pregnancy. And he even got the news of double bonaza i.e. she was expected with twins and even triplets. Plus they got the good news that Siddhideswar and Carlotta are finally marrying in coming New Years Eve.

But the fear of losing his child and most importantly his beloved wife always hovered his mind and it was just that single scar in the beauty of moon of that time and that’s the reason that he never allowed her to visit hospital again because he was afraid that she flowing in the emotions may take some highly inappropriate steps. And after almost losing her once he just was not even ready to take some risk.

This morning only, she suddenly said him that she is feeling that is watering and soon labour pains will begin. So soon she was admitted in Om and surgery had begun by a team of very experienced doctors and nurses headed by Monica because going for an normal delivery would had being very dangerous plus this surgery was also very heart-throbbing as the success rate was very low but they were expecting for the best. And it’s being 5-6 hours since then he now was also feeling scattered and helpless. Even the whole media was very excited about her pregnancy as she was to become first Mrs. C M in holding to become mother.

Since all this time, there was a number of ins and outs throughout this time, and suddenly Monica came out from the Operation theatre and said that there has being a big good news that Prakriti is safe and sound and the labours went well and now she will be brought out of OT in a few minutes, then she also said that “Please be patient, the babies are also fine but it takes time to handle three kids at one time.” Then turning to Trishant, she said that “You fathered two sons and one daughter.” Just then the babies were brought out, two of them covered with blue quilts and one them with pink quilt. Holding them Kakaji said:-

“Welcome to this world, Yuvraaj and Aditya, Yuvraaj and Aditya Vajpayee, the third generation of politicians of Indian history and my sweet little princess, Kyati, who will bring fame to the name of our family.” said Kakaji and then turning to Trishant that he was knew that he will have a grandson, an heir-apparent to the throne of his father and grandfather and also that the God will be kind to them this time.
